Antifoamer – Defoamer
Organo-silicone materials are excellent anti-foam and defoam agents in the paper finishing process. Anti-foam silicones help de-airing and the drainage of air pockets during the pulp washing and paper washing process.
Both organic and silicone antifoams are subjected to harsh conditions of pH and temperature. But while silicone antifoams are generally made with polydimethylsiloxane, silicone polyethers and compounded with hydrophobized silica, silicone anti-foams are used at very low levels and formulated as self-dispersible concentrates. This helps pitch deposits that are commonly encountered with other anti-foams.
